Imaging

What is imaging? The answer is all the jingles, the trails for shows - the sound of the station.  Think of imaging like a shop interior.  You can tell that you are in Sainsbury's or Tesco by the look of the store - on the radio it is the way the jingles sound, the way the presenters identify the station that allows the listener to identify which station they are listening to.  I worked with IQ Beats to produce fully orchestrated jingles for LBC, you can listen to their work below.

LBC 97.3 Manager

As the Production Manager of LBC 97.3 I work closely with James Rea LBC's Managing Editor and I help look after the staff on FM making sure that we work as a team to make LBC 97.3 a successful radio station.

I am responsible for the 'sound' of the station. I create all the trails and some of the promos you hear on the radio station. They are the 'adverts' that tell you when a presenter is on and what they are doing on their show.

I also create the imaging that is used on the station, for example I commissioned the company that produces our jingles to create a special theme for the sporting events in Stratford beginning with 'O'

I use RCS software to schedule all of this and I also make sure all the advertising is ready to play. I can control the way the station is scheduled either here at LBC or at home.

I look after the Presenters, and help mentor and listen to their shows. I make sure they all know what needs to be done and said to keep the station on track.

And for about 17 years or so I was LBC's weather specialist popping up throughout the day with the latest weather for London - and no cheating - I always study the charts and make my own predictions. I have to thank Philip Eden for teaching me how to do this. I will continue to cover weather stories for LBC and I Tweet the latest weather throughout the day @LBC973

About Janice

(Above) My dear sister Janice Fixter who was a brilliant poet and writer, click here to find out more. Seven years ago she became very ill and needed a kidney transplant. The wait for a transplant is very long in the UK and we do not have an opt out donor scheme (Like Spain) So I gave my kidney to my sister - well I had two - now just the one. It gave her a new lease of healthy life. Sadly in November 2011 she was diagnosed with cancer and my sister passed away in July 2012. I will miss her very much. She spent the last few days of her life at St Christopher's hospice to find out more click their logo on the left. To find out more about donor cards - click here
