Welcome

I'm Chris Lowrie on this site you will find more about my work at LBC over the last 25 years  Also find out about my passion for the weather. For about 17 years I was LBC's on air weather specialist with over 204,000 podcast downloads. I started as Clive Bull's Midnight Weatherman which was such fun to do and that led on to a proper service of weather for LBC.

Executive Producer

As the Executive Producer of LBC 97.3 I work closely with James Rea LBC's Managing Editor and I look after the staff on FM making sure that we work as a team to make LBC 97.3 a successful radio station.

I make all the trails and some of the promos you hear on the radio station. They are the 'adverts' that tell you when a presenter is on and what they are doing on their show.

I use RCS software to schedule all of this and I also make sure all the advertising is ready to play. I can control the way the station is scheduled either here at LBC or at home.

I look after the Presenters, and mentor and listen to their shows. I make sure they all know what needs to be done and said to keep the station on track.

And for about 17 years or so I was LBC's weather specialist popping up throughout the day with the latest weather for London - and no cheating - I always study the charts and make my own predictions. I have to thank Philip Eden for teaching me how to do this. I will continue to cover weather stories for LBC,

My weather station looking a bit snowy

Weather Station

My weather station sits in the garden and measures humidity, rain fall and wind and of course temperature. It has a wireless link to my home studio and a display sits under the clock with all the information. (It eats batteries though and gets through 3 every month, I have to use rechargeable batteries.)

Creative Radio Partnership Ltd

I am a Director of The Creative Radio Partnership. We are a radio production company working with Create Soho and clients include: Fun Kids, Westwood One, MediaLane, Anglia Ruskin Transcription Centre.

Janice Fixter

Janice Fixter

My dear sister Janice Fixter who is a brilliant poet and writer, click here to find out more. A couple of years ago she became very ill and needed a kidney transplant. The wait for a transplant is very long in the UK we do not have an opt out donor scheme (Like Spain) So I gave my kidney to my sister - well I had two - now just the one. She is much better and I urge anyone who has a family member in the same situation to do the same thing. Find out more about donor cards - click here
